Luke Shaw's Euro 2024 participation is in doubt as Erik ten Hag suggests that the Manchester United left-back may not feature in the FA Cup final.
The English defender has only appeared 15 times in the 2023/24 season due to injuries, with his most recent appearance being in Manchester United's victory over Luton in February.
Shaw's return after his latest injury setback was expected in early May, but Erik Ten Hag recently disclosed that the English defender has encountered difficulties in the recovery process.
MU's manager stated that Shaw would struggle to make it back in time for the upcoming FA Cup final, which is also a concern for Gareth Southgate as the England national team is nearing the announcement of the squad for Euro 2024.
Ten Hag said, "Regarding the England team, I cannot say, that's not up to me. But for the FA Cup final, we are working and I think Harry Maguire has a good chance. We are planning for him."

"Shaw is more complicated. At this point, it can be said that his chances of returning soon are less, but there is still a very small chance. He has encountered a setback and now we have to figure out how much longer it will take."
Shaw is set to play friendlies against Bosnia on June 3rd and Iceland on June 7th before heading to Germany to start the Euro journey with a clash against Serbia on June 16th.

Furthermore, UEFA's decision to expand the squad lists to 26 players means that coaches will have more options, including players with uncertain return dates like Luke Shaw.
The left-back position is a major concern for the England team, but whether Shaw will be considered good enough and reliable enough to join his teammates in Germany remains to be seen, depending on Gareth Southgate's final selection.
