Cole Palmer has now eclipsed Eden Hazard's best Premier League record at Chelsea after his recent goal for the club.
Early morning on May 16th, Cole Palmer broke the deadlock at Brighton with a powerful header in the 34th minute.
The English attacking midfielder snuck into the penalty area to meet Marc Cucurella's cross from the left flank, where he made his header effort into the far corner. It was Palmer's 22nd goal of the season, second only to Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
In total, Palmer has directly contributed to 32 goals in the English top-flight league and has 10 assists. Despite joining Chelsea from Man City just last summer for £40 million.
This figure surpasses what Chelsea legend Hazard achieved in the 2018/19 season - his last season at Stamford Bridge. Specifically, the Belgian winger was involved in 31 goals that season, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists.

In just one season, Cole Palmer has surpassed Hazard's feat at Chelsea. Moreover, Palmer has now equaled the record of 22 goals - the highest ever in a Premier League season for Chelsea that Frank Lampard achieved in the 2009/10 season.
Palmer's 27 goals across all competitions this season also equal Lampard's best season tally of 2009/10. Only Didier Drogba (29 goals in 2009/10) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (23 goals in 2000/01 and 2001/02) have scored more goals for Chelsea in a single Premier League season than Palmer.
Palmer's header for Chelsea helped him open the scoring for Mauricio Pochettino's side 9 times in the highest league in England this season. It is Chelsea's highest record in a single season, equaling Gianfranco Zola (1998/99), Drogba (2006/07), and Hazard (2014/15) - all having 9 instances.
