Gareth Southgate's squad will be the only team to reside in East Germany during the upcoming Euro 2024 campaign.
Back in 2006, the England national football team traveled to Germany for the World Cup and chose Baden-Baden as their base camp. The presence of the wives and girlfriends of the players (WAGs) at that time became the focus of media attention, attracting more attention than the matches themselves.
However, as Euro 2024 approaches, manager Gareth Southgate has opted for a slightly more remote location, hoping to reduce the attention on the WAGs and focus entirely on the matches and the team's performance in this important tournament.

FourFourTwo magazine revealed that for the upcoming European Championship in Germany, the England national team will be based in Blankenhain, a town about 90 minutes west of Leipzig. This decision makes the Three Lions the only nation at the tournament to be based in the eastern part of Germany, while the other teams will be stationed in western Germany.
The Golf Resort Weimarer Land, chosen as the accommodation venue for the England team, is an integrated resort with a golf course. The resort boasts two 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole course, promising to provide players with additional options to relax between tense matches. The decision by the Football Association (FA) came as a surprise to the media, as Southgate and his players will have to play all three group stage matches in western Germany, meaning the Three Lions will spend quite a bit of time traveling from their base camp to the match venues.

The England team has been placed in Group C at Euro 2024, where they will face Serbia, Denmark, and Slovenia. The opening match on June 16 will take place at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, as the Three Lions take on Serbia.
They will then continue their journey to the Waldstadion in Frankfurt to face Denmark before concluding the group stage with the final match at the RheinEnergieStadion in Schalke against Slovenia. This requires a long journey and careful scheduling to ensure that the England players are in the best physical condition to perform at their highest level in each match.

Participating in this year's Euro, the England national team boasts a talented squad with many players performing impressively at their clubs. Special attention is being given to standout names like Phil Foden at Manchester City, Bukayo Saka at Arsenal, or Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid.
Many are hopeful that the Three Lions, with a squad dubbed the 'Golden Generation,' will make history in Germany by bringing home the Euro 2024 trophy for the first time ever for the land of the Three Lions."
